Vampire Damage Reduction

Damage Reduction (Su): A vampire has damage reduction 10/silver and magic. A vampire’s natural weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

I'm a little unfamiliar with the 3.5 damage reduction rules for this situation.
Does this mean that the vampire can be hurt by a magical weapon, or does it have to be a magical weapon that is also made of silver?

It has to be Magical and made of silver.

What Egres said. When the DR entry says "and" (as in this case and with, for example, the balor, pit fiend and lich), the weapon has to match both types. When the DR entry has an "or" (e.g. babau or chain devil), either will do.

Cool. Thanks for giving examples for both the AND and OR cases, I hadn't been able to find them for comparison. Now my vampire should be able to go at least a few rounds against the fighter's non-silver magical great axe.
