Use two-handed weapon with one hand

Is there a feat that allows someone to use a two-handed weapon with one hand? I need a 3.5 version of the feat, so the 3.0 Monkey Grip won't work for me.

I have a player that wants to use a two-handed weapon, in one hand, with a shield. Are there any rules that cover this already?

Also, if there's no WOTC official feat, is there one from a respected 3.5 third-party source?

thanks!

All such feats of which I'm aware deal with specific exotic weapons, such as the Bastard Sword and the Maul (both are 2 handed weapons that may be weilded 1 handed with the appropriate Exotic Weapon Proficiency).

Nope -as the OP was pointing out the 3.5 version specifically does not do that.

It allows you to use a larger weapon as if it was sized correctly {with regard to amount of effort} (albeit you still suffer the -2 penalty for using an oversized weapon).

Pretty much I have not seen anything in 3.5 that will allow accomplishing what you want to do. It is mostly because of the different way that 3.5 handles weapon sizes and tpes (as in amount of effort to wield) than was done in 3.0.

Isn't a medium sized two handed weapon similar to a large sized one-handed weapon?

Could an ogre wield a greatclub in one hand without penalty?

If so I'd think that the character would take a -2 penalty for wielding an inappropriately sized weapon, and probably another -4 circumstance penalty for being an idiot... They'd be better off with a one handed weapon in any case. A two handed sword at -6 is not as good as a Longsword at -0 using -6 worth of power attack.

He wanted to use a Great Axe with one hand, but I am not sure that's gonna be the right idea. if he wants similar damage, then a Large Longsword (which he already has Weapon Focus) will work better.

The bastard sword is a one-handed weapon that's too large to wield in one hand without the appropriate Exotic Weapon Proficiency, not a two-handed weapon.
