Did anyone find the Blair Witch Prodject scarey? THe worst I heard from firends was the motion sickeness people got from the lousy camera stuff.
Alien needs to be way higher, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Is not the number one horror movie by far. But a good number I've never seen and a few I've never heard of and that's unusual. From the beggining bit it sounds like this is a English piece so maybe that;s why.
One of the least convincing lists I've seen in some time. . . and naturally, this is me being restrained in my choice of words.
But then, it's from some pulp mag, yeah? I've never read that kind of thing, so it could be that I've been mostly innocent of (sheltered from) such things.
Yes. Yes I did. However, I'm willing to admit it might just be me. I already had a thing about the outdoors and camping and especially about being lost, so that movie really struck a chord in me.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Please. Slasher movies are so pedestrian. "The Shining" scared the out of me the first time I saw it, and still does everytime I pick it up again. That's a slasher movie done right.
At best I found the Blair Witch Project creepy rather than scary; it plays with your mind but isn't frigntening. At worst I found it comedic; "we've been following a round river all day?"
I can't take this list seriously since it left out The Ring. Scariest. Movie. Evar. I couldn't sleep for days after seeing it and never with the light out. I was traumatized. I'd close my eyes and be afraid to open them and see that little girl with the hair in her face. Made me nervous about everything; TV sets (on or off), mirrors, water, etc.
It's best if you go in knowing next to nothing about it. Even the tag line in the list gave away entirely too much about it. But yeah the last 20 min of this movie is pretty disturbing and hardcore. Not so much for what you see but for what you hear...
A great splatter-and-gore list, not, with few exceptions, not a very good horror list. Horror is about atmosphere and anticipation, not just finding body parts. Overall, I'd rate the list about a 4...
