The Window RPG

I played it once years ago. i remeber it being really simple, but still enjoyable. it wasn't super exciting for us and so we've just never gone back to it.

I've played a lot of The WIndow and designed a lot of unofficial supplements for use with it (that can be found at The Window Yahoo Group). Most recently, with Scott's blessing, I threw together Spyglass. When I get some free time, I also have a follow-up planned for Spyglass that adds explicit rules for special effects such as magic and powers.

Personally speaking, The Window has delivered some of the best RPG sessions of my life. I think that it does what a good system should - resolve conflicts, then get out of the way. I've adapted it to many settings over the years, including some of my own design and some unofficial conversions for things like Dennis L. McKiernan's Mithgar (these unofficial conversions are private, though, in the event that somebody should choose to sue me over putting them online).

That takes me back. I bought my first d30 just to play The Window back in high school. Rule simple, easily hackable, can fit any genre - what's not to like?
