The gorbel is a bizarre creature that may be distantly related to beholders, but their general lack of magical abilities lends little weight to this rumor.

A gorbel is approximately 3 feet in diameter. Its reddish skin is a thin but tough and rubbery membrane. The spherical body of a gorbel is highly elastic and filled to near bursting with a lighter-than air, flammable gas that smells of rotten eggs (sulfur). Atop its round body are 6 eyes on retractable stalks. Dangling beneath the body are two strong, stubby legs with sharp claws. A gorbel eats, breathes, and excretes through an aperture best described as a mouth. This mouth is lined with a ring of sharp teeth which face inward to help it force food into its gullet.

Combat
Gorbels primarily attack with their claws, only resorting to biting after they have latched onto their prey. A gorbel will attack and try to eat whatever it thinks is edible—this generally includes anything that moves which is smaller than the gorbel. Its strange metabolic processes instill it with an almost insatiable hunger.

Improved Grab (Ex): In order to use this ability, a gorbel must hit a Medium-size or smaller opponent with both of its claw attacks in a single round. If it gets a hold, it can either automatically deal claw damage (1d6) every round or attempt to swallow the prey whole.

Swallow Whole (Ex): A gorbel can try to swallow a grabbed Small or smaller opponent by making a successful grapple check.
The swallowed creature takes 1d8 points of crushing damage and 4 points of acid damage per round from the gorbel’s gut. A swallowed creature can also cut its way out by using claws of a Small or Tiny slashing weapon to deal damage to the gizzard (AC 20). This damage immediately forces the gorbel to make a Fortitude save or suffer explosion (see below).
The gorbel’s gut can hold one Small, two Tiny, and four Diminutive or smaller opponents.

Damage Resistance (Ex): A gorbel has 20 points of resistance versus bludgeoning attacks. Piercing and slashing attacks do normal damage.

Explosion (Ex): A successful hit with a piercing or slashing weapon or by spells that inflict damage forces the gorbel to make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + ½ the damage done) or explode. This immediately kills the gorbel and deals 1d4 damage to all creatures within 5 feet; Reflex save (DC 12) for half damage.

Flight (Ex): A gorbel’s body is naturally buoyant. This buoyancy allows it to fly as the spell, as a free action, at a speed of 90 feet. This buoyancy also grants it a permanent feather fall effect with personal range.

All-Around Vision (Ex): A gorbel’s many eyes give them a +2 racial bonus to Spot and Search checks, and they can’t be flanked.

The gorbel first appeared in the 1e FF (1981)

I didn't mean to sound like I wanted you to do everything. I just thought it uh.......coincidental that you mentioned doing beholder-kin and out came Gorbel from Erica.

My bad...I'll shut up now :(

I dont have the stats for these two guys, or they would have been done last year when I finished the rest of the B-K.

Sorry!
