The Children of Gith

Erekose

Eternal Champion
I'm going to introduce the Githyanki and the Githzerai into my campaign by using the Servant of Darkness and the Prince of Shadows adventures (2E Ravenloft) by using them to replace the fey (Githyanki = Unseelie Court; Githzerai = Seelie Court; Gith = Arak; Illithid Empire = Gwydion).

The campaign world already has a "shadow rift" and so that's not a new feature which I have to introduce but there are plot devices that will have to change, e.g. the fey "steal" the shadows from villagers turing them into changelings, etc. Any advice from people who have played these adventures and can help me convert them as indicated above would be great!

However, the main reason for my post is to find out if there have been any supplements specifically on te Gith (from any edition of the game). I have the XPH but I just want to check that there is nothing more "definitive" out there as far as the Children of Gith are concerned.

Have you seen the Incursion crossover issues for Dragon and Dungeon magazines? They detail the invasion of a world by the githyanki and are chock full of githy goodness. Dungeon #100 and Dragon #309 are the relevant issues, iirc.

Dragon #306 had some cool githzerai stuff - feats, magic items, githzerai hit squads and a Savage Species-style monster class.

There are some older issues with adventures featuring the gith races - "Interlopers of Ruun-Khazai" in Dungeon and the old 1e classic "Fedifensor" in Dragon spring to mind. The issue numbers escape me at the moment, though.

There's also some cool stuff on the githyanki in the Dark Sun adventure Black Spine - another invasion scenario that features an ancient githyanki city as well as a fortress on the astral plane. Githzerai spies and agents also feature in the storyline.

Sorry, I should have said I do have the two incursion issues and the PDF addon from Paizo!

Thanks, I have't seen this, I try to track it down. I don't regularly subscribe to Dragon any more as the cost is around £7 per issue and generally I can buy a hardback book from Amazon on D&D for £14 so it doesn't feel like good value!

Thanks again, although I suspect getting hold of such old issues are going to be quite difficult - although I do have a collection of them from the 1E days in the loft - it might be just worth a look!

Sounds good - I'll check whether it's available on eBay - if it's relatively inexpensive it might be worth a look.

Thanks Mark

No problem :).

I just did a quick check, and "Interlopers of Ruun-Khazai" was in Dungeon #92 and "Fedifensor" was in Dragon #67. You can also get "Black Spine" as a pdf from Paizo or RPGNow (it's $0.95 cheaper at Paizo).

Thanks Mike - Dark Spine at eBay is only available from the USA at $24.99 + P&P I think I'll check out the $4.00 PDF!

You might also want to look at the old 2nd ed series of modules "the mind flayer adventure trilogy: A Darkness Gathering, Masters of Eternal Night, and Dawn of the Overmind". The last one in that involves the PCs travelling to Penumbra where the forerunners of the Gith race still live. There's not a lot of info on the Gith races but some.

I would also suggest the planewalker website and particulalry their section on githyanki, githzerai, etc
