Temple of the Elemental Evil -> Eberron

DM Eberron D

First Post
Greetings people,

long time reader, 1st time poster. :) Nice to be with you, at last. A small intro: I play D&D since 16 - I am 28 - I enjoy it and love it. I've been DMing one or two sessions and I decided to give it a shot and go for a campaign. In Eberron.

To the point. I've read Temple of the Elemental Evil 1st edition module and I thought to start my campaign with this one, since I am still a rookie. I looked through for a conversion for Eberron world. The only thing I found was "a-post-I-cannot-link-because-this-is-my-1st-thread"

The problem is that this refers to the RETURN to ToEE, which means the events of 1st edition have already taken place. I was wondering if anyone knows a conversion that refers to the old adventure. Or, if not a complete conversion, a part of it maybe.

Thank you in advance and really happy to be with you.

D.

Heya, I DM a 3.5 version of TOEE (players gave up), and I managed to collect some documents for updates to 3.5.

I'll give some details later.

Hello, DM Eberron D and welcome to ENWorld!

Just give us the link in a non-parsable form like "www (at) this-site (dot) com" and we know what you're talking about!

Right now I have a hard time placing ToEE in Eberron, as the premise with the Elemental Evil and the imprisoned Demon Queen doesn't fit too well. One could re-label it as an old site for experiments in the Mournland or place it to Xh'endrik (or however it's written).

On the face of it, it seems like re-skinning the demon queen as a powerful Daelkyr and placing the Temple somewhere in the Shadow Marches would work.

The competing factions within the temple would seem to correspond well with the varied cults and tribes found in the Shadow Marches, and tying in the Temple to the existing lore of sealed-away Daelkyri lords gives it a nice grounding in the setting.

Alternatively, leave the identities of the Temple's denizens intact, and change the lore to it having been the Church of the Silver Flame who previously drove them back into the temple. The Church intended to maintain a vigil upon the place, but as borders shifted during the Last War, the Temple and surrounding lands changed from being part of Thrane to being in Breland or Aundair, and records of its significance were lost.

That's a solution I could think. :) Here it is: community.wizards.com/forum/eberron/threads/2195806

It is not link anymore, you have to copy and paste it, but this will do :)

Anyway, it is a very long post so, here is a quick review:

Homlet is placed between Silver Lake and Lake Galifar in Northern Breland. He changes appropriately the NPCs to fit eberron, but still it is RETURN to ToTEE for 3E.
Some old NPCs are not even there. It's not like I want all the job done by another DM, I am just a rookie DM and I would love some tips.

Also I found character stats conversion to 3.5. But still I am most worried about the plot and how to tie it to the war, than the dice I will roll.

EDIT: For The Church of St.Cuthbert I prefer Dol' Arrah and not Silver flame, but that is PC hook issue.

I would REALLY love that! I hope you ran it in Eberron as well ;)

Ok, so I got some doc files from here and there, some from EN-world some from I have no idea where from.

It includes NPC stats, monsters, unique magic items (like the golden skull), riddles, and other random stuff. It is really helpful.

On the none document front, most of the pictures from the original book has been stashed in jpg format.

Simply put a rather nice amount of conversion stuff.

If you want it, PM me an E-mail adress and I'll zip the files and send it over.

Edit: Nope I ran it in Grayhawk. But it doesn't matter, the Temple can pop up anywhere. The fungus queen can stay, trying to corrupt other worlds or something, change the names around, its not a big deal.

Thank you a lot Ragmon, but I already have the full conversion fire for ToTEE and more modules. I would like actually a discussion about where in Eberron should the whole adventure take place in order to align best with the Last War events. :)

I can't help you with specific stuff.

Try an area where there was war not long ago, few weeks of travel from the nearest big civilized town. I don't know much about Eborron (the only thing I know is the stuff that happens in DDO).

This just popped into my head, changing the names of geographical locations would trow the players off rather nicely if they know of ToEE.
