TL; DR Let's hear your Randomly generated character stories! I made some simple character back stories using a random stat generator located in spoiler boxes below.
I'd like to hear your character's stories only from characters that have been created using randomly generated stats. It doesn't matter which method, just as long as it uses randomly generated scores. If your bored and just want post something quick, feel free to create race and Class combos from random stats.
I used a generator by William F. Hostman. It meshes well with the revolving group that I play with at the FLGS, since everyone else there uses 27 point buy. I will be playing the Barbarian character on Monday in a new campaign. The characters were created using the PHB only, except for the backgrounds in which I used the D&D wiki for one of them.
The Random Roller is found here: http://aramis.hostman.us/dnd/RedrickRoller.html
I created five Background stories using a four step formula of (1) Roll stats and pick class/race (2) a quote that describes the character, (3) three or four sentences about growing up, and (4) Background with personality traits. There's usually a comment at the end about what class options I plan to take. (e.g. Sub-class or multi-class). I think this is just enough to have a few solid ideas for my character without infringing too much on the DM's world. YMMV.
The stats I used:

Str15 Dex13 Con12 Int 9 Wis12 Cha12
Str10 Dex12 Con13 Int12 Wis14 Ch13
Str11 Dex13 Con15 Int10 Wis11 Cha13
Str13 Dex11 Con13 Int11 Wis14 Cha12

Stan was the son of an immigrant Smith who would often regale Stan with tales of a "Golden Homeland" that was a safer place than their current city. Stan's family languished in the new culture because of their immigrant status, despite the father's skill. Stan joined the city watch, but was soon disheartened by the corruption and incompetence. That's when the Harper's decided to introduce themselves (insert any clandestine faction that fights corruption here.)
Inquirer PERSONALITY TRAIT I make a game of speculating what people around me do for a living, and what secrets they are hiding. IDEAL Everybody would be a lot safer with these mysteries answered. BOND I always solve cases I've been given, always. FLAW I am suspicious of everyone, seeing people in the worst light when given the chance.
Stan Smith is intended to be a Way of the Shadow Monk. Stan Smith was not inspired by the cartoon American Dad, but it sure looks that way. [/Sblock]

Darbin Stoneless is a dwarf without homeland or obligation, but has a profound sense duty. His homeland and fellow clamates were destroyed by orcs (insert any Invading Force here). His final charge against the horde was witnessed by a bard and immortalized in song. He has since wandered the world trying to prevent the same thing from happening to other communities.
Folk Hero PERSONALITY If someone is in trouble, I'm always ready to lend help. IDEAL People deserved to be treated with dignity and respect BOND Some clan mates may have survived, but I have no idea where they are. FLAW Enemies that destroyed my homeland know who I am and want me dead. DEFINING EVENT Led militia to fight off an invading army. [/Sblock]

Parson Farsair Bluecape III grew up in a travelling fair. He's worked the booths persuading folks that fabulous prizes could be won for just a copper or that this vial of strangely colored liquid would cure baldness. When he was caught by the owner pocketing profits, he was jailed for several months. While in jail, he encountered a priest of Tymora (insert any Trickster God) who had purposely gotten thrown in jail just to meet his new pupil.
Charlatan PERSONALITY TRAIT I have a joke for every occasion, especially inappropriate occasions. IDEAL I am a free spirit, no one tells me what to do. BOND The Fair Owner does not abide being ripped off. If I was caught away from the law of the city, then my body would have been buried in an unmarked grave. FLAW I'm always in debt, I spend my ill-gotten gains on decadent luxuries faster than I bring them in. [/Sblock]

Gysrall had always dreamed of exploring far off, exotic destinations. Better yet, going there and telling people about it when he returned. To pursue this dream, he became skilled at map-making and writing. With the blessings of his guild, he's ready explore these unknown regions.
Guild Artisan (Cartographer) PERSONALITY TRAIT I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick. IDEAL The world (universe) is a mystery to be explored and understood. BOND I owe my guild a great debt for forging me into the person I am today. FLAW I'll do anything to get rare and priceless maps. [/Sblock]

This is for a campaign that starts at 5th level, so his story is slightly longer.
Bur-Sule was the second son of a chieftain who led a tribe of coastal raiders (i.e. a Viking-ish culture). Not burdened with the inheritance of leadership, he was allowed to pursue other interests, namely Druid magic. In spite of this interest, he became a renowned warrior (i.e. Barbarian) who led war-parties on coastal towns. Several years ago, his tribe was wiped out. Now he travels the world as a reluctant mercenary; disgusted by the decadence of civilization, but still reliant upon it for survival.
Sailor PERSONALITY TRAIT I work hard and play hard when work is done. IDEAL The thing that keeps a ship together is mutual respect. BOND Ruthless raiding parties destroyed my homeland. Vengeance Will Be Mine!! FLAW My pride will probably lead to my destruction
I plan to multi-class into Druid at the next level. [/Sblock]
