Stone Trolls in D&D

I don't know of any, but as my name suggests, I don't know a great deal about the game, I'm posting for a couple of reasons, the first to say that making one sounds fun and id be happy to give a crack at helping, and the other, because posts with no comments often get ignored, and id like to know about this also.

No, the Stone troll from #199 does not turn to stone when exposed to sunlight.
You're looking for the Lord of the Rings Trolls, all of which turn to stone under direct exposure to sunlight (except half trolls).
I don't have any LOTR 3.x/d20 systems, so I can't really point you in that direction, but I imagine you can take any old cave/mountain troll and slap that addendum on it.

In that case, since with D&D most of the players would take the chance to put a large fire around the troll, you might also want to magically increase the stones weight and immunity to damage, or players could smash it apart rather easily and then burn the rubble.

I believe the Fensir, or Ysgardian Troll (from Planescape), turns to stone in daylight.

FYI...

[SIZE=+1]Fensir, also called Ysgardian trolls, frequent the first and third layers of Ysgard. Despite their name, they are nothing like prime material trolls. Fensir wear only simple clothing. While some are hideously ugly, many fensir have a basic human appearance. They have larger ears and noses than humans, and have grey-brown, earth-coloured skin. Their skin is tough and leathery. Fensir average between 6 and 8 feet in height, although female rakka regularly exceed that norm .

If a fensir is ever exposed to direct sunlight for more than a single round, he turns to stone. Usually, this is a permanent situation for the unfortunate fensir.

Thanks that's what I'm looking for. I'd add it to my Middle-Oerth webpage.
