D&D has turned 50 this year. It has a good, long legacy of players--some of us have been playing the game for most of those five decades, and we're still going strong. And here's a little secret: not all of us are only playing the latest-and-greatest version. Some of us eschew the New Hotness in favor of the fond memories and upside-down Armor Class of simpler times.

Are you still playing one or more "older" editions of D&D? If so, which one(s)? Click any that apply!

For the purpose of this poll, "playing" means you are part of an ongoing gaming group that still plays this edition, as often as you can manage. And just to avoid confusion between the many different versions and editions, here's a handy picture glossary:

I'm still playing the very (very) infrequent game of BECMI, online over Roll20, with my original high school gaming group. We're all in our 50s so it's getting a little easier to schedule games now--or at least easier than it was when everyone's kids were in school and our careers were just getting started. But even so, we can only manage 2 or 3 games a year.

My other, more regular gaming group is still rocking 5E just like millions of others.

Never played OD&D, Holmes Basic, 2E, or 3X.

Stopped playing 5E.

Still play all the rest. Mostly AD&D and OSR stuff.

Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG is the sweet spot Frankenstein game for me.

5e, though I'll play any edition that's available, including Pathfinder, Level Up, etc. It's all D&D, IMO. 5e is just where the action is. And for me, it's the most intuitive version of the game, but that's not a deal breaker.

I responded "Other."

I'm running a 5e PbP (with heavy homebrewing/house-ruling) of Rime of the Frostmaiden here on ENWorld.

I've run several 5e one-shots that were conversions of AD&D Dungeon magazine adventures written by Chris Perkins. Very illuminating seeing his adventure style and skill advance over years.

Due to a move, I don't have a face-to-face group but I'm part of a group of online GMs who rotate running one-shots or short campaigns for each other. We've run a great variety of games both within the D&D-o-sphere (e.g. I played Pathfinder 2e) and outside of it (e.g. tomorrow I play in Delta Green for the first time).

I will be running a AD&D1e one-shot with Dragon magazine stuff, Unearthed Arcana, and OSRIC. The adventure is UK4: When a Star Falls.

And I'm planning a OD&D one-shot of Jennell Jacquays' F'chelrak's Tomb.

I played in an OSR Black Crag campaign - in the B/X lineage. And the same group will be running Dolmenwood later this year, and I'm looking forward to playing in that.

Spreading holiday cheer.
More than 1 game at a time? I wish.

I WOULD play as many of those as I could and own the books to do so but currently I’m in a B\X game.
