Last episode, "Enemy at the Gate".

I wonder if they'll set up the new series, I can't imagine they wouldn't but who knows. Too bad its only an hour.

Nope, no setup (just the tag at the end).

The wife thought the whole "magic engine" thing ridiculous... would have been better if they at least mentioned it a few times before. If they did, it was too oblique or I was oblivious.

Almost thought they would let
Ronan
die, but it was not too be. At the time, the wife said, "Your plot is over, so you're expendable."

It was mostly predicable, but the series usually was. Not quite as fun as most of the other eps, though any scene with Todd in it was great as usual.

They left it open to made-for-TV movies, I suppose. Otherwise, typical epsiode. Kinda fun enough for standard television sci-fi. Nothing special.

As a long time fan I appreciate seeing the cameos of various characters and the mention of General Hammond. Predictable, but enjoyable.

I would have liked seeing maybe another Russian ship or Chinese or maybe a moonbase, but that's ok.

Wondering if we see migration of characters to the next series but I guess that's for another thread.

Keep in mind that this episode wasn't supposed to be the series finale, just the season finale. It was even filmed as a cliffhanger, but changed in post-production.

There will be a movie later this year.

EDIT: Apparently it was during production that they got the news, not in post-production.

"No scifi show will have a good series finale"

And so it continued here. And its no fault of the writers or producers. Its the networks fault. For some reason, they refuse to let a show know before the production of a season that a show is canceled, so we always get hammed up wrapups thats supppose to put an exclamation point on 5 years of a great show. Last night's episode was text book "sci fi show ending" . Rushed setup in the last episode. Not one, not two, but three magical deux ex machina's to move the plot along. A faux death. Villians acting unexpectedly stupid, all the coincidences that will stick (hey what are you doing here, lets double back so we can go save the dead Ronin.

Lets hope that the made for tv movies are much better than the last two movies for stargate.

Indd @ Bab5 SG1 and DS9. Space above and beyond was set up for ownage as well untill they decided to cancel the last 2 eps of the series *G*.

And Firefly shouldnt have a good series finale, ever, it should go on foreeveerrrrrrr!! :p

I rolled a 9 on a DC 10 VCR skill check ... which means I got the episode up until the last few minutes where they were standing at the stargate and Rodney had just completed dialing it up to the alpha site.

Could someone give me a blow by blow description of that last few minutes (as predictable as it may be)?
