Speeding up Summons

Is there a feat or ability out there that allows a character to speed up the casting time for Summon Monster or Summon Nature's Ally from a full round action to a standard action? Quicken Spell is obviously a choice, but I was wondering if there was something without such a steep spell slot adjustment.

There's the Rapid Spell feat which allows you to cast it as a standard action. Requires a spell slot one level higher though.

I think in Magic Item Compendium there was something called a Summoner's Token which allows you to cast SNA as a swift action 3 times per day.

Rapid Summoning metamagic feat from Comp. Divine also works for non-UA conjurers and non-conjurers. +1 spell level.

Also, small thing, but summoning isn't a 'full round action.' It takes 'one full round.'

A full round action takes up all your time on your turn, but is done when your turn is over. People who attack you after your turn cannot disrupt your spell.

An action that takes one full round starts on your turn, and doesn't end until just before your next turn, which means that anyone who attacks you between those two points can disrupt your spell. You cannot quicken a spell that takes one full round to cast.

But yes, use the conjurer variant from UA. It's hinky.

Obvious, but invalid:

1 round > 1 full round (thanks for the unambiguous terms, WotC).

Quicken is one of the reasons that getting faster Summon spells is desirable.

1) The Thaumaturgist prestige class in the DMG has a Contingent conjuration ability.
2) A bag of tricks only requires a standard action to use
