New Line has bought a pitch based on Robert E Howard's Solomon Kane character, to be produced by Natural Born Killers/From Hell's Don Murphy.
The pitch sounds pretty cool; here's how Variety describes it:
Story follows Solomon Kane -- a character created by Howard -- to colonial America in a saga that weaves together elements from Howard's stories. Kane's heroic quest pits him against deadly human and occult forces as he seeks revenge on the shape-shifting sorcerer who destroyed his family.
You probably know Howard as the fella who invented Conan the Barbarian (although he might claim he discovered and didn't invent the Cimmerian warrior). Hopefully this movie will retain its unique time period, which is one of the things that sounded so interesting to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Hughes brothers direct it. Wonder who's going to play the role of Kane...
