Several monsters can teleport their movement range (particularly, the Dryad; speed 8, teleport 8 w/ treestride).No. Slow reduces your move to 2. Teleporting almost never uses your move in its calculations. If it said "teleport equal to your move" then i suppose slow would affect it, but otherwise no.
Ah ah. Don't look at what the fluff is in order to interpret the mechanic. Because if ice is freezing you you should be frostbitten, or if your feet is crippled then that hsouldn't just go away with a save. And why would it? Slowing is due to your feet being crippled or ice freezing you
Disclaimer: I don't have my books with me, so forgive me if my assumptions and recollections are incorrect.Several monsters can teleport their movement range (particularly, the Dryad; speed 8, teleport 8 w/ treestride)
Slow reduces your 'speed' to 2 - it doesn't say 'reduce teleport to 2' or 'reduce climb to 2' or any other such thing.
Yes, but those are two separate things that just happen to have the same numerical value. Slow reduces your 'speed' to 2 - it doesn't say 'reduce teleport to 2' or 'reduce climb to 2' or any other such thing.
Ah ... well then, that solves it. I guess I should just keep my mouth shut unless I have references at hand to checkActually it does. Sort of.
Slow: "Your speed becomes 2. This applies to all your movement modes, but it does not apply to teleportation,..."
The all your movement modes part refers to climb, swim, fly, burrow... any other modes that I may have forgotten.
As for the original poster's question, that has been answered, and teleportation is specifically mentioned as not being affected on PHB 277.
Later!
