Long-time big fan of SLA Industries here, and I don't see the point on that action resolution system. I usually pride myself on being a junkie for complicated systems that take a few sessions to learn and a few campaigns to master, and I had to read through the new mechanics for action resolution two or three times just to understand how they work; I still have no idea about what they're trying to accomplish, though.

1e SLA is an awesome game. The core rulebook could use some careful reorganization, and character creation took way more time than it should, in my opinion, but I don't believe it really needed a redesign from the ground up. At the same time, I'm also somehow relieved because all the talk about a new game with cinematic and narrative-driven rules got me afraid that we would be getting a PbtA/FitD SLA Industries instead of a proper 2e. I'm glad this is not the case.

A couple items of note just looking at the mechanics. The term "skill bonus" is used before being defined (both on page 6 of the QS), and it's defined in a colored note - normally those are used for sidebar text, rather than important text, and the prior inline-sidebar-type is of the sidebar type text...
Really, it Skill Bonus should be defined on page 3 right after "skill ranks" - as that's the first place one would expect it.

Also,1d+SkillBonus vs TN X, given the multiple comparisons, is easier to parse as 1d vs TN-SkillBonus. This doesn't change the math, but does change the calculation speed for the roll.

The passive rule seems inconsistent and adding extra complexity... why not just make it Skill Bonus ≥ Difficulty-1 ? Also, as written, the passive rule only uses the given task levels; this makes it harder to use when GM's choose to set numerical TNs other than the given discrete levels.
