Sinbad (New Series)

Did anyone else see this? Looks alright, though not perfect by any means. There are some water creatures in this that make me think they must be drawing on the older The Adventures of Sinbad, as that series had a "female ogre" , a creature that appeared to be composed entirely of water, living in a well. The characters are somewhat different, but I am thinking some definite parallels are going to be drawn to those from the old show, such as the Northener being akin to this shows Dunbar, and the doctor to Ferrouk. There is also an evil sorceress.

It was at 7 PM on Space here in Canada tonight (Sunday). I imagine that that would mean it could be on SyFy in the US, but I suppose it might not necessarily be the case that they have it at all.

It's on Sky 1 at 7pm Sundays here in the UK.

The first episode was certainly watchable, but it hasn't really found its feet yet. Hopefully it'll grow into something worth following.

I rather enjoyed the second episode. Still very standard episodic fantasy stuff, but I'm starting to warm to the characters now.

I liked the fact that the monster-of-the-week was treated as more than simply a beast, and Razia's tattoo-mask made a nice metaphor without being too heavy-handed.

Ack. Forgot to watch Sinbad. Possibly because by that time I had catching up on The Newsroom's first three episodes.

Edit: Odd. I just did a search on our satellite to see if there was a rerun this week, and the first that came was regular time next Sunday. Except when I checked the info, it said it was episode 2.

According to IMDb it doesn't seem to have an American distributor as yet.
