Shane's Gargoyle drawing

Hello all,

I wanted to post a drawing my girlfriend's nephew drew recently. He is hoping to get some training as an artist, but doesn't really believe that he has enough talent to make a living doing art. I asked him to draw a gargoyle for me, and he came up with this in 30 minutes. My girlfriend and I have been trying to encourage him to continue drawing his monsters, etc. Thoughts? Opinions?

Keep encouraging him! He definately shows alot of talent! Posting his work here gives him much exposure, so he's already off to a great start! The only advice I can give you is for him to go to school for it. I myself wish I would have went to school to learn better, still may be a possibility in the future.

There are plenty of friendly folk in here who give collective criticism and encouragement, so he will be in good hands. Matter of fact, Liquide started a Dragon workshop thread, so we can help each other out and get input.

Thanks for the kind words Malessa, I know he will be thrilled to hear some outside opinions on his work. I think he is working on some more drawings for me, and when he gets them done, I'll post them as well. Does anyone else have any comments, criticisms, etc?
