My cerebramancer has psionic tattoo, he is a tattoo artist-6 ranks total in tattooing, so he is naturally interested in expanding his tattooing to include his aracane spells. Is there a feat that allows this or a spell?

Sure Enough - there's a feat for this. I don't know where else its found, but it is in the Vile issue of Dungeon mag from maybe a year ago. It can be found in the sealed "vile" section no less.

How much skin area is available? How much area does a tattoo cover? Does it vary according to the power of the incorporated dweomer? Just some questions to consider.

There are alternate ideas for spellbooks and scrolls and such in the CArc. P187 has tattooed spellbooks (which allows for several pages of spells) and the Blood Magic PrC (p26) has the Scarification special ability (which allows for 6 stored spells). I don't know a lot about tattoo magic, so I couldn't tell you what teh rules for it specify.

There's a feat in AU called Tattooed Spell. You get a spell with a level of 1/2 your level, max 3, tattooed on you, and you can use it once per day as a spell-like ability. In AU it's restricted to simple spells, but since there's no such distinction in core, you'd have to use your own/the DM's judgement. A good guideline would be nothing like fireball, lightning bolt, or acid arrow.

The Tattoo Magic Feat can be found in Races of Faerun. A Magic Tattoo uses the same rules for creation as a Potion does, i.e. only targeted spells of 3rd level or lower and the wearer of the Tattoo is always the recipient of the Spell. The wearer is the only one who can activate it and has to touch the Tattoo to do so. A Magic Tattoo is use activated and vanishes after activation. Unlike a Potion it does not provoke an AoO when used in combat.

Magic tattoos usually take up magic item space so you can't wear magic items on a spot where the tattoo is created. The Tattoo magic prevents all magic items worn on it from working. You can create tattoos that do not interfere with magic items, but those have their creation cost doubled. However you still have to touch the touch the Tattoo to activate it, so wearing one under your Full Plate Mail does usually not help much in combat.

Prerequisites: Craft (Calligraphy or Painting), Caster level 3rd.
