Does it matter? You already have the rules of all these subclasses... what difference does it make if four of them are reprinted in the new book and why is it so important to try and figure them out?

I wanted to like Purple Dragon Knight and Oath of The Crown because they both seem to have a few bits of things I would like from a Warlord class, but -overall- I haven't found either to be particularly effective at what I want to be able to do.

I feel that the Arcana cleric is surprisingly good.

The Bladesinger, Swashbuckler, and Arcana Cleric play noticeably differently from the base classes while still capturing the essence. That is, in my humble opinion, what subclasses should do. Contrariwise, I have a much more grim opinion of subclasses that don't really do anything new with the basic engine of the class such as, say, Oath of the Crown paladins and Battle Ragers.

Simple curiosity.

Although for AL usage you might be better off using the XGE version because of extra spell choices and feats.

I have no particular fondness or dislike for any of these. I checked them all.

I do find reprinting any of them in another book to be an unforgivable waste of space, though.

It's still early in the poll, but it looks like the results are reflecting my preference: the most popular SCAG subclasses are the ones that put a significant spin on the base case -- Arcana Cleric becomes a ranged and/or melee glass cannon with unique anti-magic effects, Bladesinger is a melee glass cannon that hits hard for a full-caster gish (Bladelock in my opinion isn't quite a full-caster gish), the Swashbuckler moves the rogue to a melee harrier with some CHA skills, etc.

Ideally they would use that space to create 4 brand new and awesome subclasses, but that is not the choice they made.

I love many of them, but one of my favorite is the Undying warlock. Its features are really bad and too restrictive, but the flavour is spot on and the extended spell list is really good. I think its one of the subclasses that will be reprinted in XGtE because it has lore not related to the Forgotten Realms in its description, contrary to the more FR-specific subclasses, and I hope it will be revisited to remove the ultra-restrictive per rest restriction on some abilities.
