POWERED BY PERILOUS PAMPHLETS

Philip Reed Games, Crumbling Keep, Headcheese Productions, and my company Egg Embry Publishing are crowdfunding TTRPG pamphlets through Thursday, August 1. The Kickstarter campaigns under the Powered by Perilous Pamphlets banner offer one-page, brochure-style supplements for your Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, Old-School Essentials, Mörk Borg, and CY_BORG games.
  • Perilous Pamphlet Pack created by Philip Reed Games. Phil inspired the Powered by Perilous Pamphlets co-promotion when he revealed the Perilous Pamphlet Pack: a beautiful box designed to house your 8.5" x 11" RPG brochures. If you’re like me, you have pamphlets everywhere, in stacks and between pages acting as oversized bookmarks. This box provides a home for your TTRPG collection. The campaign includes two pamphlet fantasy adventures by Philip Reed as well as a bonus Old-School Essentials one-pager that I wrote and drew. If you want to organize your pamphlets, check out this Kickstarter.
  • The Fantasy Grind, Fantasy Adventures for OSE and 5E from Crumbling Keep puts five pamphlets at your disposal. Brochures exemplify ease-of-use. Taking advantage of the form factor, Crumbling Keep provides adventures and resources designed for use with your favorite OSR and 5e TTRPG engines.
  • CY_OPERA from Headcheese Productions was inspired by Repo! the Genetic Opera to create a setting pamphlet for CY_BORG. If you’re a fan of cyberpunk or this rock opera about megacorps repossessing your organs, check out Headcheese’s campaign for guidance on incorporating professional organ harvesting into your next neon adventure.
  • FLAMES & FLAILS: THE FIERY FORGE – An OSR Adventure Pamphlet from Egg Embry Publishing provides the first taste of my BX / Old-School Essentialssetting. Fire is the only magic. You’re hunting a fiery foe to their ever-burning lair. Beware of their traps or you’ll get burned! DISCLAIMER: Egg Embry Publishing is my gaming house.

Wowee, ProgCore is sure expensive for a first-time crowdfunder. I do like the vibe of the world and like that it's system agnostic.
Interesting. I felt the opposite. I think the whole Kickstarter is super light on details about the setting. I couldn’t even really tell what the premise is so I lost interest. Feels unfocused to me.

The art and the inspirations list conveyed the vibe to me. It's running around through a Ralph Bakshi fantasy film*, defending the bright realms of a Brothers Hildebrandt paperbook cover from the encroaching hordes straight out of a Heavy Metal comic. (* The green wizard illustration looks strikingly like a Ralph Bakshi still, for instance.)

They're not doing a good job communicating that to someone who's not already into that vibe, though. (A common first-time crowdfunder mistake.)

CODEX ARCANA, I like the idea, and I did this back in 2nd edition D&D, with the help of a dragon magazine that also had power components that could be used to alter spells, like dragon horns, bones, blood from a medusa, hair from a giant, etc

Holy … they FINALLY actually got around to kickstarting Victoriana?! That’s been vapourware and promises and missed deadlines for literal years, I’d given up on it.

I caught the progcore video on YouTube and was curious the first 4 minutes of the 8 minute video. I got side tracked and didn’t finish it but overall I was interested and set the reminder on Kickstarter. Hopefully it get closer to finding and gets over the edge but if/when it barely over 150k, is that enough to really make it all happen?
