Does anyone have details on the style of dance and weapon moves done by bladedancers and bladesingers? I'm not looking for rules-stuff, but role-playing tips on how to describe their actions, etc... I'm not clear on what's involved, the tradition, etc... Anyway, thanks for any info guys :).

I would go with adjectives connoting grace and elegance.

My understanding is balde dancing is the nonmagical elven lightly armored fighting style and bladesinging is the same but incorporates magic.

Both are built on the concepts of elven grace, beautiful movements, and for singing, the natural magical nature of elves.

I'd say things like "I glide within his guard and slash his left arm as he turns." to describe a charge or a move ending with a standard attack.

You might want to make up a bunch of elven descriptions for style positions such as martial arts katas or Robert Jordan's sword forms used in the wheel of time series.

.
I've always thought of elven bladancing/singing to be similar to Capoeria in feel - rhythmic, extrememly mobile, and flashy.

Is there a Bladedancer prestige class? I played one back in 2E and had a blast. I would be interested in checking out the new version, if someone can point me in the right direction.

Here are some suggestions for describing it...

3rd Edition Bladesinger: "The bladesinger's sword moves in a flowing, but deadly rhythym as he dances in and out of combat."

2nd Edition Bladesinger: "Upon seeing the bladesinger, the enemies all commit suicide rather than face him. Fear the almighty bladesinger, puny mortals!"

:D
