Well, after waiting for The Corpse Bride several months I went to see it tonight.

I liked it, morbid and sentimental in turns, perhaps a tad predictable.

Overall I would give it an 8.5. (What can I say, my tastes run to the macabre...)

I give it a 9.5. Positive marks for being a great idea for a first date with a hot and talented goth chick.

It loses 0.5 points for some songs being hard to understand word-wise.

This movie is a buy the week it out on dvd. Me and my wife love it! What ever Burton is ingesting we need to make sure he keeps taking.

I enjoyed it a lot. I don't really care for musicals, but I found all the songs very catchy. I love Tim Burton's character designs. I read a review that disparaged it just a little for all of the celebrity voices, but I thought they were all great. I'd love to have a DVD with behind-the-scenes info about the animation. :)

9.
Very awsome, even if Burton has use a lot of the contents previously, especially the neitherworld of the Beetlejuice cartoon.

The movie was a touch short, hopefully a director's cut is in the works. The Maggot and Spider's song felt like a more sinister bit was pulled out.

I am getting a little tired of tim burton using his alter ego of "Vince" though. His first claymation, edward, prince vince from the BJ cartoon, & most of johnny Depp's roles in burton's stuff. Enough is enough of that author character. It really doesn't detract from the movie, but He is still overused

There were also some in jokes. Harryhausen was the maker of the piano for example... And the voice of the late Peter Lorre for Maggot.

The Auld Grump - who liked it almost as much as The Nightmare Before Christmas...

the Peter Lorre character is becoming way too cliche. Especially since I think he died before I was born and most of the young audience would only know him from Bugs Bunny cartoons.
