Ok, i am curious how many arrows it will hold, it says 60 in the first pocket, but then 18 objects the size of javalins in the second pocket and 6 the size of a boz for the third......well what if i fill all 3 pockets with arrows....how many do you think it woudl hold?

I've always ruled that you can't do that. The javelin pocket and the bow pocket are too deep; arrows will fall to the bottom, and require a full-round action (per arrow) to retrieve.

But that's just me.

It's one of those up to the DM questions. Most I have found are reluctant to permit you to stash extra arrows in the javalin slots.

If you want a basis for calculating, I believe that Javelins weigh 2lb each and bundles of 20 arrows are 3lb each, at 18 javelin slots that works out to about 240 arrows in the javelin slots.

Another option is to try and persuade your GM to let you get one custom enchanted, specifically to hold more arrows and no javelins.

Heck, that's not a problem. All it means is that you use these pockets for storage, not for quick retrieval. It still leaves open the question of just how many arrows they can hold.

Personally, I'd just say 60 arrows per pocket, which is good enough for gaming purposes.

I think that the only thing any character of mine has ever used a quiver of Ehlonna for is to hold wands and staves for him. When you own a total of 23 wands and 3 staves, it helps!

As to how many arrows, I would say 18 in the javelin slots, because each slot is a distinct holding space for a particular item. Think of it like sectors on a hard disk, it don't matter the size of thing you put in there, it still counts as being full.

If you have access to Traps and treachery.
there is a quiver of Infinite arrows.
so they may not be magical arrows but you will never run out
and if you happen to be an Arcane archer/Order of the bow/Deepwoood sniper/Peerless archer/Heartseeker... unlimited firepower!!!!!

:D

Actually think of it as a golf bag. Golf bags usually have 3 different "compartments" in them. One for your woods, another for your irons, and one for your putters and sand wedges and pitching wedges and stuff. Thinking of it that way just seems right since well, a golf bag almost looks like a quiver anyway. =o)

From now on, all archers in my game have to wear golf pants. :)

Take that, archer munchkins!

The depth of a slot in a magic item shouldn't make any difference, especially in an item where you just think of the arrow you want and it appears in your hand.
