Question on trade goods values..

Hi All,

It's been a long time since I last posted but seeing as how I recently picked up the 3.5 boxed set I've been getting back into D&D with both feet so to speak...

Anyhow, here's my question:

I cannot find anywhere (in the PHB, DMG, or FRCS) the value for bolts of silk that would be used as cargo in a caravan whether as a combined total or for each individual bolt. What do you fine folks usually use for the value of silk and similar items?

Trade goods values are listed in the 3.0 Arms & Equipment Guide, p. 40. It doesn't list silk specifically, but it does have Fabric, unusual (50 lbs = 11-25 gp) and Fabric, exotic (50 lbs, 25-50+ gp).

Hope that helps!

10 gp - One square yard of silk, or one cow

So, if I remember correctly from my Home economics class, a bolt of cloth usually holds between 30 and 70 yards. So, call it 50 yards for ease and there you go, 500Gp. for quality stuff.
