Qualifying for Arachnomancer?

The Arachnomancer PrC in Underdark requires a base Fort save of +4, the ability to cast spider climb, summon swarm, and some other low-level spell as arcane spells.

How are you supposed to qualify? A straight mage will not get in 'till 12th level. Mystic theurges will have an easier time of it. I suppose my favorite way is monk 2/wizard 3; that's cool with the poison-secreting stuff.

But what's the "default" way?

What is it that prevents you from qualifying? The Fort save? Easily fixed with a feat.

Wizard 6 Mindbender 1 won't make you lose a caster level, but delays your entry a bit.

Feats don't change your base save. Thats strictly level/class based.
