What's the backstory/flavor you're imagining here?

Well basically its the shapeshifting, and using psionic to augment forms.

The psion power are self empowering not any of the ranged psion blaster type stuff.

Picture this
A Shifter Druid With Preator Form. the kind of powers I'd like him to have and be able to mentally call upon while in that form would be things like:

Biofeedback: DR
Burst: Speed
Catfall: take less dmg from fall
Chameleon: Hide
Compression: grow smaller
Expansion: grow larger
Metaphysical Claw: improved nat attack
Prevenom: nat attack gets weak posion
Synesthete: one sense stimulates another (i.e. see from hearing,)
Thicken Skin: AC

Of course there are more power like this at higher levels but it gives you an idea of what I'm looking at.

I mean shifting is a supernatural ability and these power would be an extension of that supernatural ability.

This is likely to be a huge powerup, which Druids most certainly do not need. The shapshifting variant is normally somewhat weaker than the standard wild shaping, particularly with the fact that Natural Spell doesn't work with it. But psychic warrior powers will buff them up like mad even if only manifested before shapeshifting.

I'd worry about how high their AC, damage output, DR, and healing (maybe) would get, since it's better than what a Druid could normally get with their spells. Sure, they lose out on summoning and blasting, but they just focus all that power on their melee attacks rather than wasting turns on less efficient use.

Playtest it first. Psionic druid alongside normal druid, at a few different levels.

I don't think it would be too bad... that build will possibly be a bit stronger at melee (and I am not convinced with all those new nice druid spells in SpC and other books).

Still all the other useful nice druid spells and high spell levels ... I wouldn't want to miss them.
