Prerequisites for a Necklace of Prayer Beads

I'm wanting to make a necklace of prayer beads (with a bead of karma) for my druid PC, but I noticed under the prerequisites the following language:

Caster Level: 17th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, gate, wind walk, and one of the following spells: bless, cure blindness, cure disease, cure serious wounds, holy smite, chaos hammer, order’s wrath, or unholy blight (whichever is appropriate); Market Price: 500 gp (bead of blessing), 5,000 gp (bead of karma), 10,000 gp (bead of healing), 15,000 gp (bead of smiting), 30,000 gp (bead of wind walking), or 50,000 gp (bead of summons), plus 1,000 gp for the nonmagical beads for each necklace

My question is about the bolded spells. Are these actually a requirement? I'm guessing it's a typo.

See, there's one prayer bead that enables the wearer to cast wind walk. There's another one that allows the wearer to gate in their deity. Gate and wind walk seem like perfectly reasonable requirements for these two beads. But why would you need wind walk in order to make an item that casts bless once/day?

On another note, has there been any errata for the value of a bead of karma? They seem like an awful lot of bang for your buck to me (and, sadly, to my DM.)

i didn't see it in the DMG errata, but i'm not sure about other sources (like the Sage)

edit - it is mentioned in the new D&DFAQ, but about it's effect, not pricing or requirements...

Well, there are definitely two typos in the item's prerequisites: two of the required spells (for a bead of healing) are "cure disease" and "cure blindness." These spells do not exist; instead, there's "remove disease" and "remove blindness." I'm thinking that someone didn't proofread these item descriptions, and that wind walk is a prerequisite for the bead of wind walking, and gate is a prerequisite for a bead of summons (since both beads emulate the spells I list as prereqs for them).

I may put this question on Monte Cook's boards, see if he's got some insight. If I write customer service, they're likely to respond with something like, "The bead of windwalking allows you to cast windwalk once per day."

I hate to bump my threads, but bump.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm pretty sure this hasn't been errata'ed, but it looks to me as if it HAS to be a mistake. Am I just being a whiny cracksmoking player trying to bamboozle my DM into taking away the reasonable prerequisites for a magic item, or does it really make no sense to have wind walking and gate as prerequisites for all necklaces of prayer beads?

I'd have to agree with your assessment of it, Pielorinho. It seems pretty clear that Windwalking is meant for that particular bead, and Gate for the Bead of Summons. If your DM has an issue with the prereqs for a Bead of Karma, he could add something like spellcaster level 8+ (prereq for a Potion of Heroism, which used to add temporary levels in 2E, but now just adds +2 to attacks/saves/skill checks).
