poison dagger

ok so im playing a rogue and kinda focusing on ranged with melee only coming after an enemy knows where i am. classic rogue. im thinking about a dagger whip for a support weapon as both my short swords have throwing on them. now my question is pertaining to poison. if i put a poison on the dagger will the whipping throw it off? also wasnt sure but has anyone ever heard of magically imbuing a weapon with the properties of a poison? maybe by soehow adding it when the dagger is being made? could see like a dwarf or some other weapon making race using magic and quinching the weapon in the poison? kinda grasping at straws but any help would be appreciated

Theres the Venomous enchantment (+1), and the Specific Weapon Viperblade both from the Magic Item Compendium.

Drow of the Underdark has a few enchaments that deal with poison as does the Web enhancement of Cityscape which has my favorite enchantment that deals with poisons cause it increases the DC by your weapons enhancement modifier

Serpent Kingdoms has an enchantment which turns an edged weapon into a viper with your attack bonus (+1 cost).

Treating a weapon with mundane poison will allow one venomous attack, which uses up the poison dose. There's no reason not to use poison on a Whip Dagger, except for the prohibitively high cost of most poisons. Minor Creation takes care of that with a Craft (Poisonmaking) skill check, as does a pet Monstrous Scorpion or similar.
