Plague Lord in D&D

First Post
I've had a thought. In Warhammer fantasy, and Warhammer Roleplay, I make characters dedicated to the Lord of Plagues, Nurgle, and it got me thinking.

Is it possible to invent a class, and character, similar to one of his champions?
I was looking at converting some abilities of the Cancer mage, but could do with every bit of help your all willing to get.

The gist for those that haven't seen one, is a Massive armored warrior, with hundreds of plagues corrupting his partially rotting form, flesh green, rotting and tearing in places, immune to pain, and most injury...Chuckling as he runs into battle...Others with even deeper powers relating to Plague, Entropy and Despair.

One idea I've had, is to create a character based around the taint mechanic, getting stronger the more tainted he becomes, and being able to both spread taint to others, and control them like a Cleric rebukes undead, when their tainted. Albeit this was created as a backup for one of my own campaigns, the "Horde of Decay"

My DM's fine with it if I can hand him an acceptable class sheet.

So, ideas about the class....about the character....About anything, is welcome.

Any help is welcome.

Masochist/Sadist feats and spell from BoVD lets you gain bonuses to atk/save when you've taken damage thats a possibility I think. If you take Great Fortitude, you can qualify for Poison Healer (FCI?) -it lets you regain healthy when you pass save against a poison. Fortification property on your armor will help you mitigate critical hits.
