Palpatine Was A Clone in RoS

Zardnaar

Legend
The visual guide hinted at this, now it's confirmed apparently.

Continues a trend of putting stuff in the novels that should really be in the movies (see Rey's force powers explaination).

His body was detiorating due to the dark side.

In essence they recycled the plot of 1991s Dark Empire which had a clone Emperor who's body was detiorating, had a hidden fleet with more super weapons.

Difference was they shifted from Byss in the deep core to Exegol in the unknown regions.

On the plus side this explaination makes sense with cloning technology in Star Wars and a Sith spirit being able to transfer between bodies makes some amount of sense in universe.

When the prequels were being made, I thought one plot point in Ep3 would be a meeting between Darth Sidious and Chancellor Palpatine, during which Sidious would take over Palpatine's younger body - Sith immortality. I would have "kept the camera in the other room" but have the 'Sith lightning' sound effect so the audience could figure out the general plan but invent the details themselves. The confirmation of Doom comes as Palpatine walks out of the meeting room wearing Sidious' robe and walking with a cane.
But Lucas had other plans and explanations in mind, alas.

Well duh, of course he's a clone.
It's not like anyone familiar with SW thought he magically survived being thrown into a DS reactor shaft & then exploded all over space.

Oh they did this, well...that is one book not being bought. Not bought...don't know about it.

Makes sense though. Not a fan of bringing back Palps, it wasn't a great idea I. dark Empire.

But you have the choice of ineffective villain with Kylo or bring back Palps (or Vader). Or the Snoke that died was a clone.

It makes sense but they should have built up to it since TFA.
