Paladin/Sorcerer combo

It occurred to me that a multiclass paladin/sorcerer would be a decent combination. Once I thought of it, it seemed pretty obvious: high Charisma powers the sorcerer's spells, and helps with the paladin's save bonuses, laying on hands, and smiting.

Have any of you guys come up with an interesting mixture of these classes? Obviously there's the old Sor1/PalX with True Strike and Shield, but I'm looking for something a bit more creative.

You can go the other way, and have a Pal 1/ Sor X. He's a champion of Good and Light, but a bit too weak or frail to be the knight in shining armor. But he's been blessed with powerful magic ability that allows him to be a champion of justice in different way. He's essentially a paladin that fights with spells and not swords and lances.

That's the way I went... I have an Aasimar 1st Pal/13th Sorcerer. He's a spellcasting Paladin. With all of the Paladin disabilities...

For your consideration, a character that I recently made for a PBEM campaign (using a slightly modified sorcerer; under core rules
I would have made him 4/3):

Aasimar Sorcerer 3/Paladin 4
S: 16 I:10 W:13 D:10 C:15 Ch:16
Feats: Power Attack, Cleave, Combat Casting
Key Skills: Concentration(10) +12 , Diplomacy(4) +7

Spells/Day: 5/6/3
Spells Known: Feather Fall, True Strike, Hold Portal, Shield, Blur, Blindness (DC 15)

Special Abilities: SR 9 1x/day, Smite for +3 attack, +4 damage 1x/day, lay on hands for 12 hp/day, remove disease 1x/week, aura of courage,
detect evil, light 1x/day, constant endure cold.

Attacks: +6/+1 base, +11/+6 ghost touch +1 greatsword 2d6+7

Key Items: mw breastplate +2, +1 ghost touch greatsword, gauntlets of ogre power

Except for shield, none of his spells have somatic components, and it's still a pretty nice selection of buffing spells. :-) Blindness is pretty devastating in combat, and makes a nice attack spell. I was waffling between Still Spell or Spell Focus (trans.) instead of Combat Casting.

I ran a Paladin that got the crap beat out of him at first level.

So, he developed an irrational phobia about low AC and multiclassed into a Sorcerer at level 2 to get the Shield spell. He then tried to go back to being a Paladin at level 3, but since he couldn't, he became a Cleric instead where he focused on spells like Magic Vestment and other AC boosting spells.

And yes, he took the True Strike Power Attack combo, but I often forgot to use it.

So, since he took Shield and True Strike, I guess he isn't creative enough. :)
