Paladin mounts?

Are there guildelines for what creatures are and aren't acceptable for paladin mounts?

Reading the main book it mentions a few non-horses.

anything official anywhere on this? or even unofficial?

I think it's basically what the DM will allow when it comes right down to it. What kind of mount did you have in mind? I'd allow anything for my players unless it was something like a rhino and they could turn it into a damage soaking tank to just blast through everything.

And with the new Sacred Bond do you really want a mount over the making weapon magical?

Chapter 4 of The Book of Divine Magic discusses divine animal companions, including paladin mounts, and lists different types of mounts by terrain and race. And it's on sale right now, through the end of the month.

Anything that has stats from being an animal companion that you can ride should work. That list is under druid or found in the bestiery.

Spes Magna Games most recent issue of Quid Novi?, their bi-weekly e-newsletter, had two new animals that were also listed as being possible mounts: the ostrich (for Medium characters) and the emu (for Small characters).

Rhino listed in 3.5 DMG. It requires a 7th lv Pally: pg 204-205.

Why else would you want a rhino mount? Do you just need a lot of fertilizer?
