I'd like to make sure I understand how Overland Flight works.
From the SRD Flight Maneuvrability table:
Overland Flight gives 40 ft flight with average maneuvrability.
This means:
Correct?
Also, say the caster wants to remain approximately in the same position and circles, she has to do this:
Which places her 180 degrees facing from her original position. Can she still cast spells all around her (in any direction, even away from where she is facing)?

From the SRD Flight Maneuvrability table:
Code:
Average
Minimum forward speed Half
Hover No
Move backward No
Reverse No
Turn 45º/5 ft.
Turn in place +45º/–5 ft.
Maximum turn 90º
Up angle 60º
Up speed Half
Down angle Any
Down speed Double
Between down and up 5 ft.
Overland Flight gives 40 ft flight with average maneuvrability.
This means:
- The caster can't move straight up, but has to move two squares forward for every three squares it climbs (climb speed 20 ft.)
- Each time the caster turns, she pays 5 ft. of movement (hence, if she climbs 15 ft, she can only turn once 45 deg.)
- If the caster does not move at least 20 ft., she drops 60 feet as per a Feather Fall spell.
Correct?
Also, say the caster wants to remain approximately in the same position and circles, she has to do this:
- forward 5
- turn 45
- forward 5
- turn 45
- forward 5
- turn 45
- forward 5
- turn 45
Which places her 180 degrees facing from her original position. Can she still cast spells all around her (in any direction, even away from where she is facing)?
