I love the poem's in Alice in Wonderland. Does anyone here know of any other writers who have written creative and comical poems such as the one's in Lewis Carroll's books?

Afraid I can't help you (but I bump)

Though I read "The Revised Complete and Annotated Alice In Wonderland," and it has much more interesting information onthe book as awhole, including the 'missing' chapter.

Edward Lear also wrote some famous "nonsense" verse.

The Edward Lear Homepage at http://edwardlear.tripod.com/ claims to have all of his stuff online.

A lot of his work appears to be limericks. Sample:

There was an Old Person whose habits,
Induced him to feed upon rabbits;
When he'd eaten eighteen,
He turned perfectly green,
Upon which he relinquished those habits.

But there is other stuff - longer songs and stories.

Carroll is a God.

His characters are some of the greatest in the world.
My license plate read madhter so i guess I am biast

Look for a poet named Dennis Lee. He writes fabulously silly poems, with lots of fabulous images and neologisms like carrol. I swore by his book Alligator Pie when I was a kid, but his poetry isn't just for kids.

I can remember a couple poems off the top of my head, though they aren't his best by a long shot, just cute short ones:

There was a man who never was
this tradgedy occurred because
his parents, being none to smart
were born two centuries apart

While I was walking up a stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd stay away.
