OA shaman extra domain

WotC's bitch
At 11th level, the shaman gets a third domain. Question is, if they take a prestige class that increases caster levels, would they also get that third domain if they don't actually have 11 shaman levels? Eg, would a shaman 7/void disciple 6 (11th caster level) have 3 domains, or only 2?

IMHO, +1 caster level only applies to spells per day, and spells known for sorcerers and bards, not any other class benefit like wizard's bonus feat, familiar progression, or bonus domains.

Absolutely not. It should specifically state in the spells per day section in the PrC that the +1/caster level benefit excludes all other benefits of the class.

"At 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th level, the character gains new spells per day and spells known as if she had also gained one level in a previous spellcasting class. She does not, however, gain any other benefit of the other spellcasting class." OA pg 52

No third domain.

Agreed. No third domain.

It seems to me that the designers intentionally want you to choose between that third domain or a PrC that does something else.

If you really want lotsa domains, go for Shaman 11/ Contemplative 5. That's three normal domains and two prestige domains!!

I do think Void Disciple is a very cool class with lots of flavor though!
