R.A. Salvatore's next novel will focuse of R.A. Salvatore reveals his new D&D novel — and why he wanted to follow Drizzt’s daughter Breezy, daughter of the Forgotten Realms' most famous drow ranger. Announced today via Polygon, Salvatore's next novel is titled The Finest Edge of Twilight and will feature Breezy as she tries to become a Master of Dragons. The book will also feature Dahlia Sin'felle, a recurring character from Drizzt's past. Although the book was previously announced last year, the title and synopsis (seen below) are brand new, along with the October 7, 2025 release date.

The new novel is meant to kick off a new saga for Salvatore and the Forgotten Realms, with Breezy looking to step out of her parents' shadows. She has appeared as a minor character in other books and was supposed to star in a long delayed WebToon online comics series.

The Finest Edge of Twilight will be released on October 7.

Breezy Do’Urden is more than just the heir of legendary heroes. For the past decade, she has dedicated herself to the study of combat, magic, and more recently, to the elusive Way of Shadow, honing her body and mind into a keen and singular weapon. But even after years of effort, her parents, Drizzt and Cattie-Brie, struggle to see Breezy as more than just their little girl. Determined to prove them wrong, Breezy takes on the most intense challenge she can: to fight her way to becoming a Master of Dragons at the renowned Monastery of the Yellow Rose.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of Westbridge, Dahlia Sin’felle plots her rise to power. Once a broken soul, Dahlia has few friends and fewer options to make her way through the world. But Dahlia believes she has discovered a new path to restored glory: the transformative charm and cunning of a vampire. With every step toward immortality, she consolidates her influence, building an empire from the darkness, even as she contends with her own monstrous instincts — and her complicated past with Breezy’s family.

As Breezy fights her way through the shadows, and Dahlia follows her dark ambitions, both seek to find their place in a world that can be both brutal and beautiful. No matter the challenges, their divergent paths are forged by the same choice: their fates will be theirs and theirs alone.

Ok I've enjoyed the Drizz't books over the years... but "Breezy" is the best he could come up with? Please tell me this is just her nickname...
Here is what the website says.

Catti-brie gave birth to their daughter Briennelle Zaharina—named for both of her grandfathers, Bruenor Battlehammer and Zaknafein—during the war between all the houses of Menzoberranzan outside and beneath Gauntlgrym in the Year of Dwarvenkind Reborn, 1488 DR.

Apparently not named after the brie part of Catti-brie or given the last name of either parent. I could be missing something though.

I’ll probably skip it…just for the fact my ex wife had a nick name with breezy or breezie in it :) and I haven’t read the previous novel with her in it as well, more for the fact that they haven’t been on my novel radar than her being a story thread in the novel and seeing the name over and over.

She was a toddler in the previous trilogy, so your not really missing much honestly.

There was also a small Audiobook Novella with her as protagonist for half of it, it's where unlike other Monks at her Monastary of the Yellow Rose in Damara, she chose The Way of Shadows over The Way of The Open Palm, and she visits Icewind Dale for the first time. It's not really vital that you listen to that audio book either though, it won't be needed to enjoy the new book series (is it a trilogy?)
