D&D 5E new monster - Purple People Eater

I couldn't resist. I worked under the assumption that the one eyed, one horned, winged purple people eater is the adult form of the purple worm. Enjoy. :D

It's kind of hitting a grimdark behemoth vibe instead of being a ridiculous pulp magazine rock and role beast. Otherwise it looks pretty solid, if a bit long.

One ( extremely ) minor point is that when calculating average damage in 5E, we traditionally take the die size halved plus .5 to get the true average for one die, add all the dice and static bonuses up, and then round down to the nearest whole number. For instance 3d12 + 7 is 6.5 x 3 = 19.5. 19.5 + 7 = 26.5. Rounded down to a whole number of hitpoints is 26. Basically, formulas with odd numbers of dice are averaged to a half point lower than the true average.

The exception to almost always rounding hitpoints down is when we do an average for characters' increase in hitpoints per level, where we round 1dN up. Fighters 1d10 = 5.5 = 6 etc.... So always take the "average" on HP kids...

Doesn't seem to be playing rock and roll out of it's horn...
Skills are easy enough to add. which instrument should you give them?

so which hp for the cr?

Also debating whether to give it back the purple worm's swallow whole and adjust accordingly. Yay or nay?

What are you trying to ask in this question. There is only one way to calculate HP it is as @Uta-napishti stated. However, CR does have an "effective" HP (and AC and to hit bonus for that matter). Is that what your talking about? The "effective" HP is simple the calculated HP + an features that modify the HP total for the purposes of CR calculation only (like Legendary Resistance)
