D&D General Need Magic Longbow Ideas

Dragonhelm

Knight of Solamnia
Hi, I am trying to come up with stats for the magic longbow in the attached picture, but I'm drawing a blank. None of the existing 5e bows seem to fit.

The image can be found on Deviant Art.

Any ideas or third party bows that might do the job?

That definitely has a connection to primal magic.

What power level are you thinking? It should probably grant some basic attack benefits and cast a primal spell; most likely from the ranger list. But what spells are appropriate depends on the level of the user and what other stuff the party has.

Great picture. Based on its look, since it has actual leaves and bark on it and the arrow seems to be the same, and the string seems to be noticeably magical, here's my take.

Living-Yew Longbow (+1)
Requires attunement
1d8 piercing (ammunition), range 150/600, heavy, two-handed
This longbow, which seems far more grown than made, sprouts numerous sprigs of yew leaves from its gnarled bark surface. As part of the Attack action taken to use this bow, the wielder may call to hand living arrows tipped with preternaturally sharp flint. Any attacks made using this bow with a living arrow ignore resistance to piercing damage. Creatures immune to piercing damage are not affected.
Further, the wielder may conduct a ten-minute ritual, where the bow is laid on open, natural soil and doused with water. At the end of the ritual, the wielder casts the spell goodberry without expending a spell slot, and ten plump, bright-red, oversized yew berries appear on the bow, ready to be eaten. This ritual may be performed once, and the wielder regains the ability to perform the ritual after a long rest. A new wielder who has just attuned to this item cannot perform this ritual until they complete at least one long rest.

The character is going to be 13th level. I figured a +1 or +2 would be good.

That's really good! I like it!

A +2 would be fine, but I would add something else.

Perhaps it allows the (attuned) wielder to cast guardian of nature once per day? I might even add that to what @EzekielRaiden posted above.
Yeah, I had been aiming for more like 5th-8th level character; those additions would be perfect for a 13+ character. Powerful enough that you'd be reluctant to give up such a signature weapon, but still reasonable.

Quaal's Living Longbow
Attunement optional
Ranged weapon (martial, bow)
Damage: 1d8
Damage Type: Piercing
Properties: Ammunition, Heavy, Range, Two-Handed
Range: 150/600
Weight: 2

Legend has it that this bow was wielded by Quaal himself. It appears to be made of living wood from the Vesve Forest.

When wielded without attunement, it acts as a +1 Longbow. Additionally, if the bow is damaged it will naturally heal itself at a rate of 2HP per day. If broken or split, it will reform itself in one week.

When attuned, the wielder gains an additional ability. Once per long rest, the bow produces one living arrow that can only be extracted by the wielder. When fired from the longbow, the living arrow acts as a Quaal's Feather Token: Tree. The tree springs from the spot where the arrow lands, following the standard rules of the token. If the arrow hits a creature, in addition to normal damage the creature is pushed back 5' and the tree springs from the spot where they stood (or the spot where they were hit in the case of creatures larger than 1 square). If unused, the arrow withers and dies after one day.

Half way through reading your ability here I was imagining the cruel death of having a tree grow up and through the enemies body.
