Need help with Shambling mounds and Treant combat techniques

So, Shambling Mounds get more CON with electricity, D4 con.
Is there an upper limit?
Or does it top out at 4, being an enhancement that doesn't stack?

And a Treant is one of the few creatures that have improved sunder.
It also does double damage vs objects, when it does a full attack.
So, if it decided to sunder that +2 axe chopping at it, it would do:

4D6+18

And since it does a full attack on it, it would do that twice, if the first round didn't destroy the Hardness 7 HP 7 object.
Right?

Say goodbye to your magic stuff.
Or, always stay on a treant's good side.

I think by the rules as written, the shambling mound can theoretically get a million Constitution or more. Just watch out for players who Shapechange into one and spam Electric Jolt on themselves.

Yes, a treant can pretty much destroy anything. Note that this also extends to the two trees it can animate as well.

Huh... I'd never noticed that before! I'd go with "bonuses from the same source overlap but don't stack" to keep that from getting really bad.

That being said, I could see having some fun with higher level PCs by throwing a shambler that's been zapped so many times that it's grown very powerful. :D

No, there's no upper limit, and yes, they stack.

It's .....a troublesome property.

The shambler problem has existed for a long time. I have memories of first edition enemies doing similar things to us with electricity-buffed shamblers.

On the plus side, the con bonus will really only help wild shaped PCs with their fort saves and Con checks, since your hit points don't change with the form's constitution modifier, and I personally wouldn't consider Con gained in this way to be any other kind of bonus.

Are you positive?

I'd assumed they were a bit similar to temporary HP, and the FAQ (for those that desire) says:
"Temporary hit points from two applications of the same
effect don’t stack; instead, the highest number of temporary hit
points applies in place of all others."

So if a wight is limited on the amount of energy it can absorb, a shambling might also be so limited.

That's what I'm thinking, too.
The unlimited CON shambling mound would have a higher CR.

I once designed a huge flesh golem with a number of shocker lizards inside the rib cage, as a cage.
The shocker lizards enjoyed the protection of the golem (you needed to gas them, or something, to kill them), shocked the surroundings, and empowered the golem.

Never got to use it, but it is something to save.

Thanks.
