I think I need to explain the context.

The Rock (which newfoundland is called in my world) is a very prominant part of the Hodgepocalypse, my pulp post-apocalyptic fantasy world.

here's the elevator speech:

Off the northeast coast of North America, the former Canadian province of Newfoundland has transformed into a sprawling wizard community known as the Rock. After devastating tsunamis during the early Revelations wiped out most of its population, the island was forgotten by the world. However, a group of wizards settled there, naming it the Rock for its strong foundation and desire for stability. With the help of the few remaining locals, they rebuilt the island into a magical paradise, hiding it in a temporal-dimensional pocket.

The Island is one part Atlantis, one part Hogwarts with a two drink minimum.

The governmental structural is known as the confederated fraternities, where the fraternities come together into a joint council which is rife with shenanigans.

Each Fraternity controls a different part of the island. They have both good and bad aspects, but it has the foils of spellcasters that are also essentially perpetual fratboys and sorority sisters.

One of the inspirations was a horrible game called "sorcerers get all the girls", but hoping to make it more appropriate for the current era.
