Need Advice for an Elven Cleric of Correllon

How would you play an Elven Cleric of Correllon. This will be a 10th level character. There's also a chance he may be dual classed with fighter as well. What's the best route to take this guy?

If you're going for a front line fighter type cleric, then think about the feat divine might from Complete Warrior. It's a good use of those turn undead attempts.

What setting?

Clerics of Corellon are champions and defenders of thier race, the mystic knights of thier Creator. You should have some skill in an artistic craft, and some ranks in perform. I would advise a good grounding in the clerical knowledge skills too.
Do whatever you have to do to save any elf in peril. Work to advance freedom and magical knowledge. Offer help to anyone who needs it regardless of race,
maybe a little condescendngly at times. Be quick to promote freedom and fight against slavery and harsh laws wherever you encounter them. But remember that you are a champoin of the elven race, a direct servant and representative of the Creator.

[edit] Or did you mean mechanical advice? I'd go straight cleric actually, the small bonus in fighting ability you'll get wll be more then made up for in spellcasting ability. Divine Might baybee [/edit]

Don't bother multiclassing. As an elf you're already proficient in longsword and bows, and you get all the armor and shield proficiencies from Cleric. The extra bonus feat isn't worth the loss in spellcasting.

If your cleric is a sun elf from Forgotten Realms, then he should behave like a Nazi SS officer from an Indiana Jones movie. Yes, sun elves really are that rascist and arrogant.

If your cleric is a default D&D elf, then Aaron's advice would be good to take.

Aaron gives good advice, except on one point (imo) - ditch the condescention bit. As the saying goes, those who've got it don't need to flaunt it. You fully understand that as a race, elves are better off than most - but just because someone else wasn't blessed with an elven birth does not mean you need to rub their noses in it.

Be patient, but active - You're an elf, you can spare the time to wait for the proper moment, but when it comes be ready to act.

Be as a father to those around you - Caring. Forgiving. Helpful. Instructive. Protective.

Be as a Creator, let your hands be those of an artist, your feet those of a dancer - Be graceful, not just in how you move, but in how you act and how you think. Brute force may batter a door from its hinges, but grace knows that you just need to turn the handle to make it open.

... anyway, just a few things off the top of my head.

Having played one of these in a mixed group, I would throw comments around like, "Ah so young and naive in the world, here let me explain..." or "Always in a rush, if we wait long....oh that is right patience is not something your race understands....alright then let us meet them now" And an all time favorite, "Is this truly how you wish me to explain to your grand children how you behaved."

I took the part of father to the humans in our group, it could be condescending, BUT if you play it right....

This is going to sound silly but I "wink" my ears to remind everybody that they are pointy. I also try to work the word "elf" and "Corellon Larethian" into conversation a lot, so that they don't forget that I'm not human. When on duty I play my elf like a highly disciplined mercenary but when were on leave, I act like a child.

Stop trolling.

If you play a sun elf cleric of Corellon Larethian in the Forgotten Realms, your character must be NG, CG, or CN. None of these fit into the racist, arrogant, stereotyped Nazi nonsense.
Besides, he wanted to hear useful input, not turn this into a battlefield between elf fans and elf bashers.

My advice:
Clerics and Feywardens of Corellon are Protectors. You protect elven communities and individuals when they are in peril (and if you're of good alignment, you'll protect others as well).
Corellites are Tacticians. They give advice on battle tactics and strategies (which works well with their role as protectors)
Followers of Corellon are Artists. They are well versed in poetry and music. They also are good in creating Arms and Armor (especially the kind elves favour: Longsword, Rapiers, Bows, Chain Shirts and Chainmail, Mithral items, maybe even Elven Glassteel)
Worshippers of the Creator are Warriors. They can fend for themselves (and others) in combat, be it with Sword, Bow, or Spell.
Finally, as Corellon embodies everything that is elven, his clerics often do the same: Be a warrior and a magician, be an artist and a crafter.

I played a Feywarden some time ago (still AD&D), and I played a moon elven bladesinger and champion of Corellon in 3e.
