Made a Half-Elf Spirit Shaman. Going to center on Summoning. Looking for a good "native american" indian name. Something like Talking Bull or Dances with Worgs... Something funny, yet fitting for my character. I have good Charisma and Wisdom. Great Diplomacy, and very good at Spot/Listen. In case that give anyone some good ideas.

Whistling Bear... He could whistle when he summons nature's allies. The Bear part of the name could come from the idea that a bear's the most respected and revered (by animals and men alike) animal in his ecology. And it evokes a lighthearted image.

Hope that helps. If you don't use it, I will! :D

2 actual names I've encountered: White-killer; Bear Penis.

What more can I say?

Actually, you might try looking at the official documents from the various Indian Casinos. You should find a large number of names listed in their articles, mission statements, etc, and most should be online.

You may also be able to find a name by checking out lists of Southwest/Native American artists on your search engine...Rabbit comes to mind.

But, if you just want to make things up...

Star Eagle
Owl-Singer
Wolf Brother
Spirit Caller
Dragonblood
Dawn Tracker

Yeah, names like "Spirit Wolf" are generally an indication that the speaker belongs to the Wanabe tribe ("wanna-be" ;) ). Look at real names from history - Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Afraid of Beavers ...
Although sometimes you do get a New-Age sounding name, it's the exception not the rule. My favorite is Hole In The Day (he was born during an eclipse of the sun).

As Native Americans were named for the first thing seen after their birth (or so I seem to remember):

Two Dogs Mating.
(you can change the last word for something more evocative, if you like)

Ah yes, he really got "lucky". His twin brother, who is a couple of minutes younger, at least got "bucket of water on two dogs"

That line comes from one of Terry Pratchetts novels - the spirit guide always known as "One Man Bucket" who had a twin brother referred to as "Two Dogs". Right at the end of the book OMB is asked about the reason for his name, and the enquiry wonders whether his brother was called "Two Dogs Fighting". OMB replies "Two Dogs Fighting? He would have given his right arm to be called Two Dogs Fighting!"

Cheers

Thats really good.

What about Silent hawk. The silent makes you think of the listening and wisness and the hawk is for the good spot.
