D&D 5E Naming your weapon

So, my current character is a mountain dwarf, fighter, mercenary soldier background, uses a maul. His family trade is stone masonry. His personality traits are that he deals with things in the most simple and direct manner, likes the fact that he's strong and can break things, and although stubborn is extremely loyal.

As a quirk, I'd like him to have a bet name for his maul (Kinda like Jane naming his gun in Firefly). "Molly" seems funny but maybe a little too predictable and I also considers "Vera" as an homage to Jane's gun.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

(Also consider this an open invitation to discuss the general topic of naming weapons in 5e)

I like Vera. I would also recommend looking at names of great weapons in lore and history. Durendal, Curtana, Excalibur, Mjolnir. I would suggest choosing one of the more obscure ones.

I have a player who got a +1 short sword. The player is playing a deranged fighter (PTSD) and I rolled the special stats up and got a sentient weapon. The sword is deadly and thirsts for blood. If the character ever asks for its name, I am going to say, "Durendal."

"This here maul is me weapon o' choice. I call her..."

"... 'Molly'. What.... why the eye rolls?"

"... 'Vera-Jane' [pause for out of character comments]

"... 'Vodka' - one good shot and you're sprawled out on the floor!"

Meduna - an obscure Gaulish goddess of mead, specifically the intoxicating effects of mead.

I'll call her "Sweet Meduna"
