Mind Flayers and Related Beasties?

Hey all,

Been gone wya too long. I was never more than a lurker who occasionally asked for help, but did enjoy reading and using the creations presented here.

What I am lookign for now is anything Ilithid related for use in an up-coming campaign. Cany anyone point me to any Mind Flayer related beasties here or in official sources?

OK, let's see... the Ilithiad from 2e had a bunch of illithid-kin. But as far as 3e sources...

The FF had the half-illithid template, as did Underdark.
MMIII has the voidmind template, which are servitors of the illithids whose hollow skulls are filled with psionically receptive ooze.
Underdark had stats for an elder brain.
The Psionics Handbook and the EPH have neothilids, which are mutant illithid tadpoles.
The Creature Catalog websites has some of the 1e and 2e illithid-kin.

There's also a series of illithid grafts in Fiend Folio. Slap one on and become the hit at your next party!

Dragon 296 included an Illithidkin PrC in its article on monster cultists.

Dragon 308 had an article on illithid items including symbionts.

There's also the Neh-Thal... uh, Njet-Tlha... er Brain-Collector and the Paragon Mind Flayer (possibly meant as a remake of the Ulitharid?) in the Epic Level Handbook.

i don't think the brain collectors are related to illithids in any way other than superficial (at least, i don't think so).

what about the... pthisic? isn't that a mind-flayer relative?

The last edition of the Book of Beasts had a creature called a Nulyani, which is actually a Half-Illithid. It just couldn't be called that for OGL-licensing reasons.

Isn't there also a degenerate species of mindflayer in Krynn? Yaggol or yoggol or somesuch.

[edit] Yep --- the yaggol, from waaaay back in Monstrous Compendium 4. A degenerate offshoot of the illithids, more muscular, less psionic. Basically a failed colony that went wild. I'm not sure if they have been converted to 3.5.

Thanks for all the good info. This will really help. Does anybody know any creatures on the Homebrew other than that which has been speificly mentioned, that are Ilithid related? I am sure there are some but I would like to cut down on my search time.

Dragon Magazin 318 has a Larval Flayer that was cut from the XPH, Fiend Folio has a Half-Illithid template and Dragon 313 has some Theurge-type feats that mix Arcane magic and Psionics and a Mind Mage Prestige class.
