Map storage solution?

I've got over 40 laminated maps from dnd and star wars and need a way to store them. Currently they are rolled up and secured by multiple rubber bands each. I'd prefer to have them laying flat to easily thumb through, but flat file drawers are bloody expensive and I'd only need one drawer.

Is there something else I should be looking at?

Go to an office supply, art supply or hobby & craft store. They will have cardboard mailing tubes, plastic tubes, and portfolios of all sizes.

I would go tubes myself but look for Perma/Dur Barrier Board Short Lid Boxes for flat storage.

Checking at your local Michael's or other Art's & Craft should be your first stop.

These might be what I'm looking for in addition to a satchel for transportation. With the tubes, they tend to want to remain partially rolled on the table, perfectly fine for my chessex which lays flat, but less so for the laminates.

Not sure of the size you need; but, you can get 18" x 24" portfolios for a pretty reasonable price. If you want to get fancy, they get much bigger and can be made with a nice leather. I've had mine from school for over 20 years now.
