I'm pretty sure House Rules is the right forum for this. If not, I'm sure somebody will let me know.
I've got two issues that some feedback would be great on. First, in a game I'm considering running in the near-future, the characters will be gestalt characters. The basic gist is that a divine being in the world has been killed, and his power spread out across the world. It has result in these clumps of powers that rest in some individuals. In a quasi-highlander mechanism, this power can be stolen by other individuals with The Power. I'll make a mechanism for that later. Much later.
But that's why its going to be a gestalt game -- one of the two classes will represent this divine power in the individual, while the other is a more standard choice. The first decision I need to make is what class(es) to use as the Power Class. My current thought is that the power can manifest in probably 3 ways, each corresponding to Body, Mind or Soul.
Does it seem right for Soul to be Sorcerer?
Mind to be Monk?
And Body ... I'm not sure. Any thoughts on that, or on other classes for the above two, would be appreciated.
Also, the particular god was god of plants and animals. Just for fun, his name is Able. Given that, should druid be one of the possible ways for his power to manifest?
Now, for my other issue. In another game I'm conceptualizing, I want there to be one source of magical power. So instead of Clerics, Druids, Wizards, Sorcerers, et all, they're combined into only one class. Which will likely be very similiar to the Sorcerer, but I want them to be able to have some healing capacities.
So the question is, should I put all healing spells into the possible known list, or just a few? I figure that with the low number of known spells a sorcerer has, it shoudn't be to big of an issue -- if someone decides to know all the healing spells, they won't be very good at much else. So, would the smart thing be to just claim that the healing domain is on the possible spell known list?
That's it for now,
Eolin
