Lost: So Who Dies?

Steverooo

First Post
So, who dies, by season's end?

I think that it will NOT be Claire... She "has to raise her child!" Because of that, I think she HAS to stay.

I also think that Sun has to stay. She is Jin's only link to the rest (unless he really can speak English). So she has to stay, too.

The "obvious" choice is Jin, but the actor who plays him says that the episode is a real tear-jerker, so I doubt it... Same for Boone, and his sister... I can't see too many people crying over the loss of either one of them.

Pretty much anyone else can go, but I think Jack and Kate are pretty safe. I doubt the two main Stars will get "geeked" (but I could be wrong)! :]

Jack would be a great loss, but the show could survive without him. The "Castaways" are another matter... So I think not.

Both could survive without Kate, but I can't see them killing her off, either, although her death would probably have the most pathos. I still say "Not!"

Michael might be another good choice. No one but Walt will really miss him, but Walt would make for a tear-jerking episode, so he is a possibility. Also, in order for him to "come of age", and gain full use of his "abilities", he is going to need training by Locke, and Michael won't let them near each other... Removing Michael would "fix" that. So he is a possibility...

Walt wouldn't matter much to anyone but Michael, but I can't see him being killed off before we know anything about him, so, again, I say "Not!"

Hugo/"Hurley" is a possibility. We still know nothing about him, really, but he could go... He seems the most practical of the group, however, so that, plus his "mystery", makes me vote "No".

Charley is another possibility. He adds little to the group, but his death (again!) would add pathos. Claire would miss him, and he would affect Jack, and Jack would affect Kate... She might even affect Sawyer. So, it's possible, although I doubt it.

Locke? He's not too connected to anyONE, but he's awfully connected to everyTHING! I can't see him getting killed off, very easily! I see him warning against the raft expedition, and someone dying when his advice goes unheeded... So, again, "Not!"

Sawyer? He still has an infection, and the potential for blood-poisoning and sepsis (for which Jack is treating him with antibiotics), as far as I know, so it's possible. He adds little to the group, puts himself against them (and them against himself) unnecessarily, AND is going on the raft, so he's a pretty good candidate. As for pathos, Kate would seem likely to miss him, and Jack might, especially if he reveals that his Dad was proud of him... So he's a possibility, too...

I think that it will most likely be Sayid. There is an "unclaimed", open spot on the raft. His dead girlfriend's comments about "If we cannot be together, here, then maybe in the next life" ring kinda prophetic, he adds just enough to the group to be missed, but not enough to spell DOOM if he gets "geeked". Also, if he dies because of Sawyer (or even saving his life), then that adds pathos for Sawyer (who is in desperate need of some)! Also, he seems the most likely candidate for the open spot on the raft, as he has some telecommunications technology skill, and would likely go along to operate any sorts of receiver/transmitters that they are able to rig up...

I seriously doubt that a minor character like Rose/Ruby (the black woman who doesn't fly well) would be the one killed. That hardly seems to count! Same for Vincent (the dog)!

So, I predict that we will see Michael, Walt, Sawyer (for sure), and probably Sayid go out on the raft, FAIL to get away from the island, and that one of them will drown. I'm betting Sayid.

Thoughts? :D

My guess is Michael. His dying will help push the development of Walt. Also he is the main man behind building the raft if he goes the raft will probably go. Michael is an unecessary character.

My guesses: Michael, Jin or Hurley.

But mostly I am posting to plead with those who have seen spoilers to resist posting them, or at least use spoiler text and warn us. I know there is a supposed spoiler out there about who dies, and I want very much to avoid it.

Thanks.

Meh. I know who. Someone put it in a thread without marking it spoiler. Meh. :\

The dog. :D

It is a toss up, Jack is a chioce, Micheal, Boone, Shannon, all can be it. Charlie has already died, Hurley, just hope it is not Hurley.

I think one can almost guarantee it won't be a girl. There's only four in the main cast vs. ten guys. Unless they want to "promote" one of the 30-odd faceless castaways to main cast status, I don't think the producers will want to alienate fans by getting rid of 25% of the female cast.

That said, Shannon could do a lot for the show by getting killed off. She's annoying, has zero chemistry with Sayid, and her death would probably drive Boone to go totally gonzo. Not that Boone isn't as annoying as his stepsister, but he's got way more potential for Lord of the Flies wackiness than Shannon.

But you need a movie star on the island...the role of Ginger. :D

Meh. I'd take any one of Kate, Sun or Claire over her (preferably, I wouldn't have to choose just one :]), in real life or on a desert island. To quote Pulp Fiction, personality goes a long way.
