Looking For Good Online Map Printing Service

I like to make my own settings, and I like to have them look as professional as possible. In the past I've created large maps using CC2 and Photoshop, and then split them up among a number of 8 X 10 pages, printed them up on my inkjet, and then either taped them together and folded them, or mounted them on a piece of cardboard. These days I just don't have the space to do that, so I'm looking for a good online printer that will take my maps and print them up in one piece, and then deliver them folded into a nice 8 X 10 package. Does anyone know of such a service?

Check around for local print providers - many offer large scale printing from CD or electronic file as a service for architects and planners.

I work with a lady who has a poster printer capable of 44" wide by however long you want it to be. Pricing is by the square foot depending on what you want it printed on - paper, photo-paper, vinyl, canvas.

Really? Does she have a website?

Do you know which printer she uses? I'm thinking it might be an HP 7xx series.

Thanks,

Hello, I'm run graphic design shop in Illinois. Although I'm sure I can do this for you now, in a few days, I'll be uploading my new website www.gamer-printshop.com where offer a variety of GM accessories printing:

Large Format Color Printing up to 36 x 48 inches - and laminating with mounting
Large Format B/W Printing upt to 36 x 48 inches (at $6.00 per sheet)
Color 11 x 17 Battlemap Printing - color laser to 80# cardstock
New product Battlemap Corridors and Ship Decks Plans - color laser to 80# cardstock up to 11 x 44 inches
Also GMs get all your maps laminated with heavy duty film reading for markup.

Sorry to sound so much like an ad, but I think I can offer you what you're looking for. I am working closely with Profantasy, Dundjini, and John from Roleplayingtips.com to get it right for you.

Give me by this weekend to have the site up!

Also, I wouldn't normally fold up your large format map into 8 x 10 (I'll do it if you want, but...) It would be better, if slightly more expensive to laminate the print, then roll it up and ship in a mailing tube. You're better off, it lays flatter and no creases.

To give you an idea on price, I charge $5.00 per square foot, so a 24 x 36 is $30, laminating will only cost $6.00 more - this is 600 dpi color inkjet printing. And although it significantly adds to the price, you might consider mounting to 3/16" foamboard - looks great on the wall or on a display. Foamboard would add about $12.50 to the price.

If you want something more affordable consider B/W, I print onto a 36" wide laser printer with a little gray, mostly line art at $ .50 per square foot, same price for laminating as above.

Just to note...
