D&D 5E Looking for an intro 1st level zombie adventure

Hi looking to introduce family to D&D 5E and I think my best bet is horror with zombies as a preference. I've looked into house of horrors but not sure its my best bet


any published 1 shot adventures in horror for 5th edition . Zombies was my idea based on they are fans of walking dead but I will consider other ideas


I'm going to run Phandelver after but I think I get them to into this with a good zombie adventure

I did a one shot, one page adventure that might fit what you're asking: Undeathly Storm

It doesn't cost anything, so no loss if you check it out. It can be played in about an hour or so. Plot synopsis: players are resting in an inn, bad storm rolls in, inn surrounded by zombies. After beating zombies, follows trail to necromancer's cave lair.

I haven't yet, but I plan on running The Town of Bridgepuddle.

It is for levels 5-8, though.

If the group never player before you can just throw together 3-4 encounters with a few zombies and change a few monsters in each encounter. A zombie with a few zombie dogs, a couple zombies, and a necromancer with a pair of zombies. A good thing to do is take a break after a few encounters and have people level to 2nd level before the final fight. They will like the new power and may become a longtime player.

Death House is a free introductory adventure for the Curse of Strahd adventure and is made to take characters from 1st to 3rd level. Some people have posted that they had to tweak some things to avoid characters deaths, so be prepared for that if you use it.

There's a 4th edition adventure in Dungeon #176 called "Dead by Dawn". Hole up in an evil temple over night while raging zombie hordes try to break in. Stay alive until morning. It will take some work to update to 5th edition but could be a good inspiration.

Yup. I have run this in 5E and Moldvay.Best D&D zombie adventure there is, IMO.

IIRC, there is a 5e conversion out there for the main antagonist.

may use Dead by dawn and finish it was a ghost encounter instead of the altar ending
