D&D 5E Let's break the Ring of Spell Storing

From another thread:
the barbarian is way overpowered because with a ring of spell storing with shield spells stored in make up the difference for things like reckless attack. (just an example off the top of my head; I'm sure someone can figure out a combination more game breaking than that).
To be clear -- that quote is out of context. But it did get me thinking. How CAN we break a ring of spell storing? Any ideas for ridiculous combinations that this thing enables?

i would think that a ring of spell storing would be a wizard (or other caster) only thing. i know it doesn't say that in the description, but i think that is only because there are multiple casters in this edition, even from the melee classes (EK and AT). if a Barbarian got a hold of one, he'd be stuck with single uses of the spells it might have inside it, then hopefully find a caster to help him, someone who is willing to burn up their 4 1st level slots for the day powering up his ring.

besides, do you really think the group is going to let the barbarian have it if there are true casters who can use it better?

that said, a rogue with a ring full of knock spells or invisibility might be fun ;) ; or add Blur to the barbarian's ring.

To start off, for those who have not read the other thread, the Ring of Spell Storing allows for 5 total levels of spells that can be cast from the ring. The spells are cast as if done by the caster putting the spells in.

So, the most obvious way without going into combinations of spells is to get a high level caster putting a 5th level spell into the ring at lower levels. Simple example, Wall of Force. At lower levels, a Wall of Force is impossible to get through.

If you are discussing putting PC spells into the ring and having a non-caster cast the spell, it would most likely have to be a personal spell(s) (i.e. range self spells, like Shield) to see any abuse. The reason is that the PCs can already cast the spell.

You could store a Conjure Woodland Beings in the ring and use it to summon 8 CR 1/4 Pixies. The pixies can cast dispel magic (among other things) so you could essentially dispel magic (or polymorph, entangle, sleep, fly, etc) 16 times per day. Once from a normal cast and once from the 8 pixies in the ring.

I think I know how to break one, store antimagic field, give the ring to barbarian or fighter, watch the ensuing carnage.....

Depending on level, the other aspect of the ring is that it adds 5 spell levels to the group which allows for more adventuring. 5 Cure Wounds spells would allow for 37 to 47 average extra healing points per day. At low level, that's some substantial extra healing. Alternatively, a single Mass Cure Wounds would average 111 extra healing (if there are 6 PCs), but that would require level 9 PCs (or at least a level 9 NPC).
